Both work well locally. Hardwoods like spotted gum and merbau look great and are very durable, while composite decking costs more up front but needs almost no maintenance and resists fading in strong sun. Chris can help you weigh up look, budget and maintenance.

Some low-level, smaller structures may be exempt, but many decks and pergolas — especially raised or larger ones — require building and/or development approval from the relevant local authority. Chris helps you understand what your project needs before work starts.
